GCash, the country’s leading e-wallet, has launched an international transfer service enabling users to send money directly from their mobile wallets to bank accounts, cards, and e-wallets across 16 countries.
The expansion, branded as GCash International Transfers, allows Philippine-based users to send pesos to the United States, China, Japan, and several European and Middle Eastern nations.
CCash said recipients will receive funds in their local currency, a move designed to “eliminate conversion concerns and ensure straightforward access to transferred amounts.”
The service is positioned to capture a growing market of families supporting students abroad and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) sourcing “raw materials, inventory, or specialized services from overseas.”
GCash claims the initiative “breaks down time and cost barriers” for families and business owners who previously relied on traditional methods characterized by slow processing and high fees.
“GCash International Transfers reflects our commitment to extending financial inclusion beyond Philippine borders,” Arjun Varma, GCash International general manager, said in a statement.
The new feature enables “same-day crediting for most corridors” and next-day transfers to the United States.
To accelerate adoption, GCash announced that users can send money to the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Oman with “absolutely zero fees and no minimum transfer amount” from March 12 to 31, 2026.
