Manulife Financial Corp. is giving its two-decade-old Philippine operations hub a new identity as it leans more heavily on the local team to support its global business and growing push into artificial intelligence.
The insurer has renamed Manulife Business Processing Services (MBPS) as Manulife Global Solutions (MGS), marking the transition during president and CEO Phil Witherington’s recent visit to Manila.
“I was grateful to visit the Philippines recently, where I joined colleagues to celebrate 20 years of MBPS and welcomed its new chapter as Manulife Global Solutions (MGS),” Witherington said.
“This marked an important milestone for a team that is supporting our businesses around the world as we become AI-powered and work to empower customer health, wealth, and longevity,” he added.
MGS serves as Manulife’s global solutions hub, providing operations support, technical expertise and specialized business capabilities across the insurer’s international operations.
Witherington also met agency leaders, advisers and employees during his Manila visit.
“The optimism, commitment, and collaborative spirit that defines our team in the Philippines is remarkable. Congratulations to all and I look forward to seeing the impact you’ll have on Manulife’s future!” Witherington said.
