BDO Unibank extends P3.5B debt financing to Vivant Energy for expanding renewable energy portfolio

Vivant Energy Corp., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Vivant Corp., has inked a 5-year term loan facility agreement with BDO Unibank Inc., securing up to P3.5 billion in debt financing to bolster its investments in power generation projects.

Vivant Corp., a publicly-listed firm, has allocated P21 billion to achieve its ambitious goal of increasing its renewable energy (RE) portfolio to 30 percent by 2030, aligning with environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles.

The recent acquisition of San Ildefonso Alternative Energy Corp., set to develop a 22-megawatt peak (MWp) solar power plant in Bulacan, and the growth of rooftop solar business by fully-owned subsidiary COREnergy Inc., contribute to Vivant’s strides in meeting its RE targets.

COREnergy aims to expand its solar rooftop generation capacity from two MW to six MW in 2022, with plans to add an additional 18 MW by year-end.

Vivant Energy is actively exploring wind and solar technologies to further surpass its renewable energy objectives.
