Who says bankers can’t ball? TG Limcaoco shoots hoops at BPI sportsfest

TG Limcaoco showed he’s not all about numbers and banking as he joined nearly 1,000 BPI employees for some friendly competition at the bank’s annual sportsfest.

The BPI president and CEO got in on the fun as the Ayala-led bank kicked off Season 3 of the BPI Well Cup and Season 2 of the BPI Well Cup Racketfest.

BPI shared a photo on Facebook showing Limcaoco shooting some hoops.

“Game on, BPI! The spirit of teamwork and wellness took center stage as BPI Well Cup Season 3 and BPI Well Cup Racketfest Season 2 officially kicked off,” the bank said in a social media post.

Employees faced off in basketball, men’s and women’s volleyball, badminton, pickleball and table tennis, giving everyone — from staff to the big boss himself — a chance to enjoy some friendly rivalry outside the usual work setting.

“More than a tournament, the BPI Well Cup is a celebration of our people and the connections that make our workplace community stronger. It’s a chance to step away from the usual workday, enjoy healthy competition, and simply have fun with colleagues,” BPI said.

The bank said the event is part of its effort to encourage employees to make time for their well-being and build connections beyond work.

“Because at BPI, being well means making space for the things that energize us — on and off the court. Here’s to a season of wellness, friendly competition, and #ProudtoBePartofIt moments,” it added.

For a day, at least, Limcaoco and the BPI crew had a different set of numbers to watch — the ones on the scoreboard.
