Who gets SSS pensions out on time? BDO, PSBank, RCBC’s DiskarTech earn top marks

The Social Security System has named its top banking partners for handling pension and benefit payouts to Filipino workers and their beneficiaries.

BDO Unibank was named Best Universal/Commercial Bank for disbursements, while Philippine Savings Bank won the thrift bank category and BDO Network Bank took the rural bank award. Rizal Commercial Banking Corp.’s DiskarTech topped the digital bank category.

SSS president and CEO Robert Joseph de Claro said the lenders were selected based on their performance in ensuring the timely release of benefits and monthly pensions.

For collections, Union Bank of the Philippines led the universal and commercial bank category, while Rang-ay Bank topped the thrift and rural bank segment. CIS Bayad Center won the non-bank category and Ventaja International Corp. was named the top overseas partner.

The awardees were cited for efficiently processing member contributions and salary loan payments.

“The success of the SSS in protecting the welfare of the Filipino workforce is anchored on its strong ties with employers and partners,” de Claro said.

“Through their continued support, we are able to provide vital social security benefits and services to our members and their beneficiaries.”

SSS also named Golden Arches Development Corp. and Lachi’s Dessert Bakery as its top employers for large and branch accounts, respectively, citing their compliance with requirements on employee reporting, contributions, loan remittances and benefit notifications.

The Local Government Unit of Valencia, First Community Cooperative and Community Saving and Credit Association Farmers were cited for helping extend SSS coverage to self-employed workers, land-based overseas Filipino workers and voluntary members.

Special citations went to the Development Bank of the Philippines, First Metro Investment Corp., Land Bank of the Philippines, DoubleDragon Corp., the Department of Foreign Affairs and the Commission on Filipinos Overseas for their work with the pension fund.

The annual Balikat ng Bayan Awards, established in 1995, honor organizations and individuals that help SSS deliver social security programs and services in the Philippines and overseas.
