Ty brothers raise stake in Metrobank

Brothers Arthur and Alfred Ty are beefing up their shareholdings in Metropolitan Bank & Trust Company (Metrobank) headed by bankero Fabian Dee by buying additional shares through the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE).

Metrobank chairman Arthur Ty bought 15,000 Metrobank shares with a price range of P50.30 to P50.50 per share.

The older Ty shelled out P754,216.90 last June 13 to increase his shareholdings in Metrobank. This brought his shareholdings in the listed bank to 15.63 million direct shares and 404.24 million indirect shares.

Likewise, Metrobank director Alfred Ty spent P754,217.80 to buy 15,000 shares at a price range of P50.30 to P50.50 per share last June 13. This raised his indirect shareholdings in the bank to 58.12 million and direct shares to 17.09 million.

Metrobank, owned by the family of the late taipan George SK Ty, is the country’s third largest bank in terms of total assets.
