Treasury sets P629 billion borrowing target for Q1 2025

To address its budget deficit, the government is seeking to raise P629 billion domestically in the first quarter of next year.

The Bureau of the Treasury (BTr) will auction P264 billion in Treasury bills (T-bills) with maturities of 91, 182, and 364 days from January to March. Additionally, P365 billion will be raised through Treasury bonds (T-bonds) with maturities ranging from three to 25 years. T-bills will be offered weekly on Mondays, while T-bond auctions will be held every Tuesday.

This borrowing plan aligns with the government’s strategy to reduce reliance on foreign debt and strengthen the domestic capital market.

The government will auction Treasury bills and bonds with various maturities to achieve this target.
