TG Limcaoco takes Best Bank CEO crown as BPI scores four-award haul

Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) emerged as one of the big winners at The Asian Banker Philippine Awards 2026, taking four honors spanning leadership, management and key business segments.

The Ayala-led lender was named the Philippines’ Best Managed Bank, while its president and CEO, TG Limcaoco, was recognized as Best Bank CEO.

BPI also won Best Retail Bank and Best SME Bank, highlighting its position in two major segments serving consumers and businesses across the country.

Limcaoco turned the spotlight on BPI’s more than 23,000 employees, saying his individual recognition reflected the work of the wider organization.

“I see these awards as a reflection of something much larger than any one individual. Because a CEO is only as good as the people he leads,” Limcaoco said.

“These awards speak to the strength of our institution, the commitment of our leadership team, and the dedication of more than 23,000 Unibankers who come to work every day with one goal – to make a difference in the lives of our customers,” he added.

BPI attributed its performance in retail and SME banking to its nationwide presence and continued focus on financial products and services for individuals and enterprises.

The four awards add to the accolades received by the 175-year-old lender as it seeks to expand its consumer and business franchises while maintaining disciplined growth.
