Sun Life Foundation opens three new health stations in Central Luzon

Sun Life Financial-Philippines Foundation Inc. has turned over three new health stations in Central Luzon, expanding access to basic healthcare for thousands of residents in remote and underserved communities.

Built in partnership with Health Futures Foundation, Inc. (HFI), the Sun Life Barangay Health Stations provide vaccinations, prenatal checkups, and health education, while a complementary community-based health and wellness program trains local volunteers as community health workers, reducing travel and out-of-pocket costs for residents.

The new facilities in Brgy. Masalasa in Victoria, Brgy. San Agustin in Gerona, Tarlac, and Brgy. Tandoc in Talugtug, Nueva Ecija, bring the total to 16 stations across Batangas, Tarlac, and Nueva Ecija, each serving an estimated 5,000 people.

“These health stations ensure quality healthcare is within reach for all Filipinos, regardless of location or income,” said Joy Castillo, Sun Life Foundation president.

Dr. Jaime Galvez Tan, HFI chairman, said that the initiative supports the government’s Universal Health Care program.

Sun Life Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the Philippines’ first life insurer, focuses on sustainable programs in health, education, and environmental stewardship.
