The Philippine Deposit Insurance Corp. (PDIC) has completed its private sector representation on the board with the oath-taking of two independent directors, Justice Lady P. Soriano and Imelda C. Tiongson.
The directors were sworn in on Dec. 19 at the PDIC office in Makati City by PDIC chairperson and BSP Governor Eli M. Remolona Jr.
The PDIC said the appointees “bring with them a wealth of experience and expertise” in investment banking, corporate governance, risk management, and financial technology. As independent directors, they are tasked with ensuring impartiality in policies governing deposit insurance and promoting the integrity of the system.
Soriano is CFO of Synergy Grid and Development Philippines Inc., with prior roles at the Development Bank of the Philippines and PDIC.
Tiongson has more than three decades of experience in banking, audit, corporate governance, and fintech, and has held senior positions at the Philippine National Bank and National Australia Bank.
The appointments complete the four-member private sector representation on the PDIC Board alongside John Mark S. Frondoso and Luis Rey I. Velasco.
