So long, Citibank! Here’s what’s going to happen to cardholders’ points, rewards

UnionBank assured Citibank cardholders that they’ll continue enjoying the rewards they’ve accumulated through credit cards even if the global lender has ended its operations in the Philippines.

The Aboitiz-owned lender said all rewards points, rebates, and miles collected by Citi clients will remain intact and usable despite their migration into UnionBank’s systems and the replacement of their physical cards.

However, Citi users need to manually register to use the UnionBank online and mobile app to keep track of their points and reward redemptions.

Citi cardholders can continue using their old cards until they receive their new credit card from UnionBank.

The migration of Citi accounts to UnionBank’s systems was completed on March 25.
