Security Bank wins big at the HR Excellence Awards Philippines 2023

The Human Capital Management (HCM) team of Security Bank Corporation (PSE:SECB) took home multiple honors at the HR Excellence Awards 2023, including Excellence in Workplace Wellbeing (Silver); HR Leader of the Year for Nerissa Berba, EVP and Chief People Officer; and HR Manager of the Year for Eileen Reyes, FVP and HCM Academy Head. The gala dinner and awards ceremony took place on September 1, 2023 at Shangri-La at the Fort, with the team in full attendance.

Security Bank was recognized in the Excellence in Workplace Wellbeing category for its commitment to the holistic physical and mental health of its employees—with focus on work-life balance by adapting a role-based hybrid work arrangement and providing access to free counselling in partnership with Mind You Mental Health Systems, Inc. The award reflects Security Bank’s significant strides in creating a nurturing, inclusive, and supportive workplace environment.

“We are incredibly honored to be recognized at the HR Excellence Awards 2023. This is a testament to Security Bank’s commitment to empowering our team members to thrive both personally and professionally. These accolades inspire us to continue pushing the boundaries of what’s possible and to create a workplace that fosters both individual and collective success,” said Nerissa Berba, Executive Vice President and Chief People Officer.

Berba, who took home the award for HR Leader of the Year, also noted the Bank’s enduring commitment to fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and well-being within its workforce demonstrated through initiatives such as utilizing blended learning tools. Eileen Reyes, First Vice President and Head of SBC Academy, won the award for HR Leader of the Year as well.

Further, Security Bank received finalist marks in the following categories: Excellence in Corporate Wellness, for its dedication to prioritizing the health of its workforce through initiatives such as mental health support; and Excellence in Learning and Development for its innovative learning opportunities for employee skill enhancement supported by its industry-leading partnership with LinkedIn Learning.

The HR Excellence Awards were given by Human Resources Online, a pan-Asia publication under Lighthouse Independent Media, which recognizes companies in the region leading the future of work through adaptability and innovation.

Recently, Security Bank was also recognized by LinkedIn as “Diversity Champion” and “Talent Insights Pioneer.” These achievements further cement the Bank’s position as an employer of choice in Philippine banking.

These awards come fresh off Security Bank’s recent investments in people transformation projects including its new Employee Value Proposition (EVP) “You Matter” and Darwinbox-powered HR integrated technology platform, dubbed HeRO—two initiatives that aim to supercharge Security Bank’s employee experience.
