Security Bank independent director beefs up shareholdings

An independent director of Security Bank Corp. led by bankero Sanjiv Vohra beefed up his shareholdings in the publicly-held bank.

Enrico Cruz spent P412,000 to acquire 4,000 shares of Security Bank at P103 per piece a few days before the May 9 polls.

With the additional shares purchased last May 5, Cruz now has 125,010 Security Bank shares.

Cruz joined the listed bank’s Board of Directors in August 2019 and currently serves as chairman of its Risk Oversight Committee, Vice Chairman of the Audit Committee and Nominations and Remuneration Committee and member of Finance and Executive (Independent – Non-Voting) Committees.

Cruz is also an Independent Director of SB Capital Investment Corp., Maxicare Healthcare Corp., AREIT, Inc., CIBI Information Inc., The Keepers Holdings Inc., and DITO CME Holdings Corp.

Prior to joining Security Bank, Cruz was the managing director and chief country officer for Deutsche Bank AG Manila Branch (DB) since 2003. He joined the foreign bank in 1995 as a director and head of global markets.

Prior to Deutsche Bank, Cruz served as senior vice president and head of treasury at Citytrust Banking Corp. (CTBC), an affiliate of Citibank NA.
