Security Bank appoints Singaporean banker Victor Lee to lead next growth phase

Security Bank Corp. is set to welcome a new chief executive next year as part of a planned leadership handover designed to sustain the lender’s growth momentum.

The bank announced that Victor Lee Meng Teck, a veteran Singaporean banker with more than 30 years of experience across Asia, will assume the role ofpPresident and CEO by early January 2026, once regulatory requirements — including his work permit and visa — are secured.

He will replace Sanjiv Vohra, who will remain at the helm until the transition is completed, and will later serve as senior advisor to the board.

Lee previously headed CIMB Singapore and served as CEO of Growth Markets for CIMB Bank Berhad. At CIMB Singapore, he oversaw a period of rapid expansion, “doubling revenue and raising Return on Equity to nearly 20%,”Security Bank said.

Under Lee’s leadership, the bank consistently ranked among The Straits Times’ Top 3 institutions for customer experience from 2023 to 2025, while employee engagement and satisfaction rose markedly.

“I’m honored to be entrusted with this responsibility,” Lee said in a statement. “Security Bank has built a strong reputation for customer-centricity, innovation, and its distinct BetterBanking experience. I look forward to working with Sanjiv, the Board, and all employees to continue building on this foundation and delivering sustainable growth for our stakeholders.”

Vohra, who took over Security Bank in 2019, guided the institution through a sweeping transformation that strengthened its digital platforms and reinforced a customer-first culture.

“Our journey over the past six years has been one of total transformation — reimagining Security Bank from front to back,” he said. “We have strengthened our people, embraced new technology, modernized platforms, and, most importantly, embedded customer-centricity at the heart of everything we do.”

Security Bank chairman Cirilo Noel credited Vohra for his “steady leadership during one of the most challenging periods in recent history,” saying his vision left the bank “stronger, more resilient, and well-prepared for the future.” He added that the planned succession would ensure a “seamless transition” to capture new business opportunities.

As of end-June 2025, Security Bank had total assets of ₱1.15 trillion, a network of 361 branches, and 637 ATMs, cash recyclers, and cash acceptance machines.
