The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has entered into partnerships with the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) and fintech firms, including Maya Bank Inc., to enhance financial literacy nationwide through the Capital Market Promotion and Awareness Inter-Agency Network.
The SEC aims to protect overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) from fraudulent investment schemes by expanding the reach of financial literacy programs, and, in addition to DMW, has partnered with Maya, G-Xchange, Inc., BDO Foundation Inc., and Empower and Transform, OPC.
The collaboration with Maya, formalized during the SEC’s 87th-anniversary ceremony, seeks to boost consumer awareness of sound investment practices and protection against fraud, fostering a financially fit nation through innovative approaches.
