Sandiganbayan finds former bank VP guilty of graft

A former employee of the government-owned Philippine Postal Savings Bank, now known as Overseas Filipino Bank, was found guilty of graft by the Sandiganbayan for providing two depositors undue preference.

On January 20, the 2nd Division of the anti-graft court convicted Rosemarie Villamora, a former vice president of the bank, to six years and one month to eight years in jail.

Villamora also served as South Luzon area head and Naga City branch head.

Additionally, Villamora was ordered to pay P39.05 million, which is the amount of “excessive” interest that depositors Noel Antonio and Daughters of Mary “unjustly” accrued from 2013 to 2017.

She was also barred from holding public office perpetually.
