China Banking Corp., chaired by bilyonaryo Hans Sy, has appointed Ronald Emmanuel Co, division head of operations at First Metro Securities Brokerage Corp. (FMSB), as president and director of its stock brokerage unit.
Co, 45, will assume his post at Chinabank Securities on Aug. 17, succeeding Marisol Teodoro, who is set to retire on Sept. 1.
He brings more than 15 years of brokerage industry experience and holds a bachelor’s degree in electronics engineering from the Technological Institute of the Philippines.
Co was promoted to his most recent role at FMSB in February 2025 after serving as head of operations and information technology since March 2023.
Earlier, Co headed securities operations at BDO Unibank from May 2022 to March 2023. He also held several positions at First Metro Securities Brokerage, including department head of operations, business development officer and compliance coordinator.
He began his career as an operations supervisor at ACS of the Philippines Inc. before moving to Accenture Healthcare Processing Inc. as a quality assurance analyst.
Separately, Chinabank promoted retail sales division head Harvey Ty and balance sheet management division head Emir Francis Javillonar from first vice president I to first vice president II, effective Aug. 16.
