Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation (RCBC) saw its net income rise by 20% to ₱5.3 billion in the first half of 2025, fueled by strong gains in core lending and the continued expansion of its digital banking platforms.
The bank’s net interest income climbed 33%, pushing its net interest margin to 4.57% from 3.71% a year ago.
RCBC president and CEO Reggie Cariaso said the bank is embedding data-driven practices deeper into its operations.
“We’re going to make data-driven decision making a core part of our way of doing things, so that we can make intelligent and resourceful decisions when we engage our clients,” Cariaso said. “We’re investing in ways that we can understand our clients and get all their financial needs met through RCBC.”
Consumer lending was the primary growth driver, contributing to a 38% increase within the bank’s 14% overall loan portfolio expansion. Credit cards and personal loans rose by 47%, auto loans by 46%, and housing loans by 24%, supported by effective cross-selling strategies.
RCBC said digital transaction volumes rose by 28% year-on-year, with wider adoption of RCBC Online Banking and RCBC Pulz playing a key role in engaging more customers.
The bank’s capital base stood at ₱163 billion, up 7% from the previous year, supported by stronger earnings. Its capital adequacy ratio (CAR) was 16.21%, while its Common Equity Tier 1 (CET1) ratio stood at 13.71%.
As of June 30, RCBC’s physical and digital footprint included 470 bank branches, 1,488 ATMs, and 6,549 ATM Go terminals deployed nationwide.
