Life insurer Pru Life UK has named Gilbert Simpao as its general manager and chief commercial officer, a former chief marketing and client experience officer at Sun Life Philippines.
Under the new role he assumed last January, Simpao is in charge of the design and execution of Pru Life UK’s overall commercial and business development strategies for customer acquisition and revenue generation.
He will also provide strategic input to the company’s overall business strategy.

Simpao’s extensive experience and expertise in general management, marketing, sales, and digital transformation will boost the insurer’s bid to continue leading the insurance field.

Before shifting to insurance, Simpao worked as the chief commercial officer and regional commercial cluster head for AirAsia in the Philippines, Taiwan, and South Korea. He was also Unilever’s managing director for Personal Care and Globe Telecom’s SVP for Consumer Broadband Business.
Simpao earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Economics and Management of Financial Institutions from the De La Salle University. He is married and has four children.
