Pru Life UK is expanding its Adopt-a-Madrasah program to support more Muslim communities in Mindanao.
After a successful pilot in Davao City in October 2024, the program will now reach Davao, Cagayan de Oro, and Zamboanga, helping 1,500 students and teachers across nine madaris (Islamic schools).
The program, in partnership with the NGO ASSIST, offers educational resources and focuses on important areas like financial literacy, digital skills, and climate awareness.
It introduces students and teachers to Shari’ah-compliant financial services, teaching them about financial inclusion through Takaful.
The program also trains teachers in digital skills, enhancing their teaching methods and helping students prepare for a tech-driven future.
Atty. Paul Mandal, Senior VP at Pru Life UK, said: “We’re excited to bring this program to more communities in Mindanao, helping students and teachers understand financial security, technology, and climate awareness. Our goal is to create lasting, positive change.”
The Adopt-a-Madrasah program continues Pru Life UK’s commitment to building resilient, sustainable communities and empowering the next generation with important life skills.
