PLDT boosts partnership with Tarlac’s Signabank

PLDT Enterprise, the business-to-business (B2B) division of PLDT Inc., announced the strengthening of its partnership with Signabank Rural Bank of Sta. Ignacia (Signabank), an expanding rural bank in Tarlac province.

The collaboration, initiated in 2015, has transformed Signabank’s operations, reinforcing its commitment to providing top-notch services to its customers. Established in 1963, Signabank emerged as one of the most trusted rural banks in Tarlac, commemorating its 60th founding anniversary in September 2023. With a growing network of 10 local branches, it continues to fortify its position as a vital financial institution for Tarlaceños and thriving business communities in the region.

Before embarking on its digital transformation journey, Signabank faced challenges ranging from intermittent internet connections, restoration delays, to inadequate network security. Each branch operated its own server, incurring significant expenses and maintenance challenges. The bank also required a secure and branded email solution.

Through PLDT Enterprise, Signabank upgraded its IT and network infrastructure by adopting high-speed PLDT Fiber Biz Plans, ensuring reliable and stable internet connections. They also implemented Microsoft 365 with Advanced Threat Protection (ATP) through PLDT’s ICT arm, ePLDT, to enhance email security and branding, providing more advanced and innovative operations for the bank.

PLDT Enterprise also introduced Azure Stack and Multi-Threat Secure (MTS) to centralize and fortify the bank’s core banking solutions and security.

Jay Lagdameo, vice president and enterprise revenue group head at PLDT Enterprise, noted the importance of the partnership: “Our collaboration with Signabank reflects our vision to empower the banking industry with transformative digital solutions. We understand the challenges faced by financial institutions and are dedicated to providing them with the tools they need to thrive in the digital age,” he said.

Signabank president Dr. Roman L. Belmonte Jr., expressed satisfaction with the partnership’s outcomes. “Thanks to PLDT Enterprise, we can now enjoy reliable internet connectivity, enhanced email security, and a more secure and efficient core banking infrastructure. We are well-prepared to serve our customers better and continue our growth journey,” he said.

“Signabank’s success story is emblematic of the broader trend in the banking industry in Region III. With the support of PLDT Enterprise, financial institutions are actively embracing digital transformation to provide a seamless and digitally enabled customer experience,” Belmonte said.
