PDIC extends claim filing deadline for creditors of closed rural bank

The Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation (PDIC) has granted an extension until December 18, 2023, for creditors to file claims against the assets of the recently closed Rural Bank of Talisay (Cebu), Inc.

Claimants, including depositors exceeding the maximum deposit insurance coverage of P500,000, can utilize e-mail (talisay-pad@pdic.gov.ph), mail (PDIC Public Assistance Department, Ground Floor, PDIC Chino Bldg., 2228 Chino Roces Avenue, Makati City 1231), or submit claims in person at the PDIC Public Assistance Center (PAC) located on the 3rd Floor, SSS Bldg., 6782 Ayala Avenue corner V.A. Rufino St., Makati City, from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Claims received after December 18, 2023, will not be accepted.

PDIC, acting as the Receiver, will notify creditors of claim denials or disallowances through mail.

For depositors with balances surpassing the maximum deposit insurance coverage, claims for the insured portion are deemed filed for the uninsured portion as of December 18, 2023.

Deposit liabilities of the Rural Bank of Talisay (Cebu), Inc. amounted to P93.1 million as of March 31, 2023, with P64.7 million secured through deposit insurance.
