PBCOM appoints new EVP

The Philippine Bank of Communications (PBCOM) named Jane K. Gocuan as its chief strategy and implementation officer and executive vice president effective February 1, 2024.

The confirmation of Gocuan’s appointment was made by the bank’s board in its meeting on Jan. 31.

During the same meeting, the board elected former senator Paolo Benigno “Bam” Aquino IV as an independent director and member of its audit committee.

The bank’s independent director Teresita Herbosa was designated as the audit committee’s chairperson. Herbosa served as chairperson of the Securities and Exchange Commission from April 2011 to June 2018.

Both appointments also came into effect on February 1, 2024.

Gocuan brings to PBCOM a wealth of experience in the banking sector, with over 30 years of expertise in customer service, relationship management, branch and management, investments, treasury, loans, and brand recognition building.

She has held various roles in multinational, government, and local banks. She recently served as the deputy retail banking segment head of Robinsons Bank.

Gocuan is an alumna of the University of the Philippines Cebu, where she earned both her Master’s degree in Business Management and Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management.
