No lines, no hassle: 2 million users now on GSIS Touch

By the staff

The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) said its mobile app, GSIS Touch, has surpassed two million registered users, highlighting growing trust in digital services among members and pensioners.

To mark the milestone, GSIS awarded cash incentives to 201 registrants. The two-millionth user received ₱20,000, while the next 200 each got ₱2,000, credited directly to their GSIS eCard accounts on Jan. 26.

“Reaching two million GSIS Touch users proves that when government services are designed around the needs of our members and pensioners, adoption follows,” GSIS president and general manager Wick Veloso said. “Digitalization is not just about technology, it is about improving lives, saving time, and making access to our benefits, loans, and services truly maginhawa for all.”

Of the 201 winners, 113 were pensioners and 88 active members, including 44 from local government units, 24 from the Department of Education, 17 from national agencies, two from government-owned corporations, and one from the military. Regionally, 104 winners came from Visayas and Mindanao, 71 from Luzon, and 26 from Metro Manila.

Launched in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, GSIS Touch provides 24/7 paperless access to services such as loan applications, claims filing, transaction tracking, and pensioner revalidation using facial recognition.

The app also issues a GSIS Digital ID, replacing physical UMID cards. By mid-2025, most loan applications and service requests were processed through the app, cutting turnaround time by 77% and reducing branch visits.

GSIS Touch has earned international recognition, including a finalist spot at the 2025 World Pensions and Investments Excellence and Innovation Awards in the Netherlands, and honors at the ASEAN Social Security Association Recognition Awards in Brunei last November.
