Former United Coconut Planters Bank (UCPB) president and CEO Jose Querubin has been sworn in as a member of the Monetary Board of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP).

In a statement on Friday, the BSP announced that Querubin took his oath of office on Thursday at its head office in Manila.

Querubin will serve on the Monetary Board, the BSP’s highest policy-making body, until July 2, 2026.

Prior to joining the BSP, Querubin held the position of UCPB president and CEO from 2003 to 2007.

His appointment completes the seven-member Monetary Board, where he joins BSP Governor and Board Chairman Eli Remolona Jr., Finance Secretary Ralph Recto, and members Benjamin Diokno, Romeo Bernardo, Rosalia De Leon, and Walter Wassmer, who joined the board in July.
