Maya deposits surge 69% in 2023

Maya, the digital banking arm of the PLDT Group, saw a significant increase in deposits in 2023, reaching 3 million customers with a deposit balance of P25 billion, marking a 69-percent rise from 2022.

Loan releases also surged to P22 billion, up from P3 billion the previous year. The bank offers higher interest rates and borrowing opportunities through its app, attracting 57 percent of digital banking depositors by September 2023.

Maya’s comprehensive suite of services includes savings, credit, e-wallet, crypto, insurance, investment, and rewards.

With top ratings on app stores, Maya aims to redefine banking, emphasizing seamless transactions and financial empowerment.

Despite a moratorium on new licenses until late 2024, the BSP continues to monitor the digital banking sector’s growth and market readiness.
