President Ferdinand Marcos Jr has appointed Victor Alfonso Limlingan as president and chief executive officer of the Social Security System (SSS), the state pension fund said.
Limlingan succeeds Robert Joseph Montes de Claro, who was named Information and Communications Technology Secretary earlier this week.
Prior to his appointment, Limlingan served on the Social Security Commission representing the employers’ group, the SSS said in a statement. His corporate background includes roles as managing director of brokerage firm Regina Capital Development Corp, board member of the Development Bank of the Philippines, and senior vice president at Small Business Corp.
As head of the state insurer, Limlingan will prioritize enhancing and expanding member loan programs and relaunching the Pension Booster Program, the agency said.
Limlingan holds a Master of Business Administration from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and a bachelor’s degree from Ateneo de Manila University.
