Lucio Tan’s PNB adds former deputy governor Tuaño-Amador as independent director to board

Maria Almasara Cyd Tuaño-Amador, a former deputy governor of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, has been nominated to fill the board seat of Federico C. Pascual at the Philippine National Bank.

Bilyonaryo Lucio Tan’s banking arm, PNB disclosed the 15 nominees to its board of directors for 2023-2024 in a filing with the Philippine Stock Exchange.

Tuaño-Amador will be one of the five independent directors alongside Edgar A. Cua, Isabelita M. Papa, Wilfrido E. Sanchez, and Domingo H. Yyap.

She was the OIC of the BSP after Governor Espenilla’s death in 2019.

She will join the PNB board on April 25 after she is formally elected as a director in the bank’s annual stockholders’ meeting.

Pascual, who joined PNB as an independent director in 2014, is the current chairman of the board.
