Gotianun-led EastWest Rural Bank has donated 100 metal detectors to the Department of Education (DepEd) in Davao Region to bolster campus security amid concerns over school violence in the Philippines.
The rural banking arm of East West Banking Corp. said the donation aims to help schools strengthen security measures and provide a safer environment for students and teachers.
“Every learner deserves to feel safe at school,” the bank said in a statement.
“This partnership reflects our belief that when students feel secure, they are better able to learn, grow, and reach their full potential,” it added.
The lender said the initiative forms part of its efforts to support safer learning environments and improve student welfare.
