Brothers Jaime Augusto and Fernando Zobel de Ayala were serenaded by employees of the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) headed by TG Limcaoco and other guests, including Makati City Mayor Abby Binay, during the groundbreaking ceremony of the bank’s new headquarters in Makati City.
JAZA is chairman of both Ayala Corp and BPI, while FZA is the vice chairman of the companies.
Toward the end of the ceremony, JAZA and FZA were asked to go to the makeshift stage and the officials and employees of the Ayala Group of Companies sang the “Happy Birthday” song.
The Zobel brothers blew the candles on their respective birthday cakes.
JAZA was born on March 6, 1959, while FZA who is a year younger was born on March 14, 1960.
