Mastercard and FinVolution Group have rolled out a new card‑based lending product in the Philippines, aiming to capture rising demand for flexible, digital‑first credit solutions in one of Southeast Asia’s fastest‑growing digital economies.
The Luvit Card, issued in both virtual and physical formats, allows users to convert purchases into installment payments and is accepted across Mastercard’s global merchant network.
Embedded in the Luvit app, the product enables consumers to apply and manage repayments through a fully digital platform.
Francisco Roberto Mauricio, CEO of WeFund, a FinVolution subsidiary, said the card is designed to provide financial access to underserved but creditworthy Filipinos, with approvals possible “in minutes” using proprietary AI technology.
Mastercard Philippines country manager Jason Crasto said the initiative addresses a gap between rapid digitalization and limited access to financial tools, giving users “a card accepted by millions of merchants globally, backed by a lending experience designed around how they manage money.”
Asia United Bank is serving as BIN sponsor, while MatchMove is the technology partner.
The launch comes as installment‑based payments gain traction among Filipino consumers, with fintech players racing to introduce more accessible credit products for younger users and first‑time borrowers.
