Metropolitan Bank & Trust Company led by banker Fabian Dee is urging the public to #FIGHTFRAUD by not answering online quizzes that ask for personal information.
The country’s second largest private bank said scammers use online quizzes and surveys to steal personal and sensitive information from curious netizens, even with just the mere acceptance of the terms and conditions.
“Avoid online quiz scams,” Metrobank said.
The lender said clients should always check the legitimacy and security of the website hosting the online quiz or survey.
“Don’t share addresses or phone numbers in your public profiles and make sure to limit the audience who can view your online content,” it added.
Furthermore, Metrobank said the public should keep their mobile and computer’s security updated and use an anti-virus software.
