GSIS to agencies: Report typhoon-hit assets for faster claims processing

The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) is urging all public agencies to immediately report property damage linked to Typhoons Crising, Dante, and Emong as it moves to fast-track claims and recovery efforts.

To facilitate the processing of insurance assistance, GSIS advised agencies to prepare their policy details and coordinate with the nearest GSIS branch or extension office. Contact information is available on the agency’s website.

“We are ready to help agencies recover and get back on track. Your safety and protection remain our priority,” GSIS officer-in-charge Juliet Bautista said in a statement.

GSIS insures a wide range of government-owned assets—including buildings, vehicles, and equipment—and offers non-life insurance products such as fire, motor vehicle, engineering, and accident coverage. It also issues compulsory third-party liability (CTPL) insurance and covers projects involving public funds or government interests.

The advisory comes after days of heavy rainfall and flooding across parts of the Philippines, exacerbated by the southwest monsoon and the series of typhoons that recently struck the country.
