GSIS nears full digital adoption with 99% online transaction rate

Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) members and pensioners are embracing digital convenience, with more than 99% of transactions conducted online in the first half of 2025.

From January through June, GSIS processed nearly all loan applications, member inquiries, and status renewals via its GSIS Touch mobile app and GWAPS kiosks.

The shift to digital channels allows users to manage accounts without visiting GSIS offices, streamlining access to benefits and services.

“Digital GINHAWA means comfort, accessibility, and peace of mind for our members. Now, applying for loans, checking records and accessing benefits can all be done with just a few taps on your phone,” GSIS president and general manager Wick Veloso.

Online loan applications climbed to 99.1% in Q2, up from 98.5% in Q1, while loan computations consistently exceeded 99.5%.

The active renewal of pensioners’ status (APIR) also saw strong digital uptake, with 97% processed through digital platforms in Q2, up from 95% in Q1.

With over two million registered users, the GSIS Touch app provides round-the-clock access to services including loan applications, benefit monitoring, and APIR compliance. It also serves members in remote and overseas locations.

Veloso emphasized plans to expand digital services further and encouraged members to download the app and update their contact information to ensure uninterrupted access.
