The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) ended 2025 with total assets of ₱1.96 trillion, up 8.2 percent from the previous year, putting the state pension fund within reach of the ₱2-trillion mark.
Total income rose 6.4 percent to ₱344.47 billion, driven by insurance revenues and investment returns. Social insurance income accounted for the bulk at ₱212.17 billion, while general insurance premiums climbed 10.8 percent to ₱11.39 billion on stronger new and renewal policy issuances.
Investment income from financial assets reached ₱76.55 billion, reinforcing the fund’s capacity to meet long-term pension obligations. Net operating income stood at ₱137.74 billion.
GSIS president and general manager Wick Veloso credited disciplined fund management for the results. “Every peso in this fund belongs to a government worker who expects it to be there when they retire or when their family needs it,” Veloso said. “In 2025, we paid out more in benefits than the year before while growing our assets by over ₱148 billion.”
