GoTyme Bank, the digital banking arm of the Gokongwei family’s JG Summit Holdings Inc., has partnered with the Arayat Athletic Association (AAA) to support grassroots football development by expanding access to coaching, training facilities and football clinics across communities in Luzon.
JG Summit president and CEO Lance Gokongwei said the initiative aims to create more opportunities for young athletes to develop their skills through organized grassroots programs.
As part of the initiative, aspiring footballer Sam Suguran earned the opportunity to travel to Barcelona earlier this year through the “Dream Assist” campaign backed by GoTyme Bank and Visa. During the trip, he met Spanish football star Lamine Yamal.
Gokongwei said he first met Suguran through AAA’s grassroots football program and described the young athlete as demonstrating “remarkable dedication, discipline, and love for the game.”
“Congratulations, Sam. Your journey is a reminder of what can happen when talent, hard work, and opportunity come together. Wishing you all the best as you continue to pursue your dreams,” Gokongwei said in a social media post.
