GCash to launch in-app stock trading in November

PSE’s Ramon Monzon wants GCash users to be able to trade stocks on the app soon.

Gcash will soon allow its users to trade Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) stocks through the GCash platform, which will make public trading accessible to millions of Gcash users.

Mr. Ramon Monzon said that PSE and GCash have been on the late stage of talks on how stock trading can be conducted on the GCash app, which is being eyed for public launch by November.

PSE inked a deal with GCash and AB Capital Securities, the main as broker for investments transactions through the e-wallet platform. The move shall open stock trading to the 67 million subscribers of GCash.

The group is now discussion technical issues and finalizing concerns related to the deal.
