Asia United Bank (AUB), led by Rebisco Group founder and owner Jacinto Ng, has partnered with global payments technology firm Paymentology to expand its digital banking services as more Filipinos turn to online financial transactions.
The partnership will integrate Paymentology’s cloud-based payment processing technology into AUB’s digital platforms, including its HelloMoney e-wallet, mobile banking services, QR Ph payments and electronic fund transfers.
AUB executive vice president and head of IT and operations Wilfredo Rodriguez Jr. said the agreement would help the bank introduce new payment products and improve customer services.
“By combining Paymentology’s advanced payments technology with AUB’s strong presence and understanding of the Philippine market, we can accelerate the rollout of modern payment products and continue delivering enhanced digital experiences to our customers,” Rodriguez said.
The partnership comes as digital payments gain ground in the Philippines. Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas data showed that 62% of Filipino households conducted online financial transactions in 2025, up from 53% in 2024.
AUB has also been expanding HelloMoney’s international payment capabilities through Alipay+, allowing users to make QR code payments in 60 destinations, including Japan, South Korea, Malaysia and Singapore.
Paymentology chief revenue officer Anna Porra said growing digital adoption and efforts to expand financial inclusion were creating opportunities in the Philippine market.
“We’re proud to partner with AUB as it enters the next stage of its digital journey,” Porra said.
The agreement was announced during Paymentology’s Issuer Academy event in Bangkok, where Rodriguez participated in discussions on digital banking and customer trust.
Paymentology provides payment processing services to banks and financial technology companies in more than 65 countries.
