Empowering MSMEs: GoTyme and Tiktok Shop team up to fasttrack financing for online businesses

GoTyme Bank, a leading digital bank in the Philippines, has partnered with TikTok Shop to introduce a new loan program aimed at providing online entrepreneurs with expedited access to working capital.

The initiative, dubbed TikTok Shop Loans powered by GoTyme Bank, is designed to support micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) by leveraging their e-commerce performance data to facilitate financing.

By analyzing transaction data from TikTok Shop sales, the program offers pre-qualified merchants customized loan offers within minutes, with funds disbursed as early as the next business day. This data-driven approach aims to streamline the lending process, bypassing conventional metrics that often create barriers for small businesses.

GoTyme Bank co-CEO Albert Tinio emphasized the program’s tailored nature. “It really differs per seller. That’s the beauty of it. It’s based on their needs and business trajectory,” Tinio said, underscoring the personalized financial solutions.

He added that MSMEs, recognized as the backbone of the Philippine economy, deserve financial products thoughtfully designed around their operational realities.

The pilot phase, which commenced last week, has already onboarded 16 merchants. GoTyme Bank has set an ambitious target to cover approximately 20% of TikTok Shop’s total merchant base by loan volume by year-end.

Current loan sizes range from P250,000 to P300,000, with tenors extending from 3 to 12 months. Interest rates vary between 1.5% to 2.5% per month, contingent on the merchant’s profile.

“TikTok Shop’s mission is to empower Filipino MSMEs through social commerce, and with TikTok Shop Loans powered by GoTyme Bank, we’re taking that commitment one step further,” said Franco Aligaen, Marketing Lead of TikTok Shop Philippines.

“We believe that fast and flexible financing enables sustainable growth and empowers MSMEs to thrive in the dynamic digital landscape.”

GoTyme Bank CEO Nate Clarke said that this solution represents a crucial step toward a more inclusive financial ecosystem.

“Using real-time data lets us offer capital right when merchants need it,” he said.
