The Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) paid tribute to brand ambassador Alexandra “Alex” Eala after the Filipina tennis star climbed to a career-high World No. 28 in the latest WTA rankings following her historic Wimbledon campaign.
In a Facebook post, the bank celebrated Eala’s latest milestone and hailed her as an inspiration to young Filipinos.
“Rising higher. 🎾To every girl with ruffled socks, light-up shoes, and chubby cheeks — this is proof that dreams know no limits.
Thank you, Alex, for inspiring the next generation to dream bigger, aim higher, and #DoMORE. We’re cheering you on every step of the way. 🇵🇭❤️”
Eala made history at Wimbledon by becoming the first Filipino to reach the fourth round of a Grand Slam, a run highlighted by her upset victory over defending champion Iga Świątek before falling to Jasmine Paolini in the last 16.
After defeating Świątek, Eala said she hoped her success would inspire more young Filipinos to pursue their ambitions.
