DBM, World Bank team up to implement reforms in procurement law

The Department of Budget and Management forged ties with the World Bank are planning to ignite reforms in the Philippines’ procurement law.

Budget Secretary Amenah F. Pangandaman convened with officials from the World Bank in Washington D.C. to confer potential collaboration and partnership in procurement reforms to be implemented in the country. The former BSP official said that timing is ripe to present further reforms and review the government procurement process on the Government Procurement Reform Act (RA 9184) was passed in 2003. The World Bank further reiterated its support and commitment to provide technical assistance to the DBM so it can proficiently study, plan, and unveil reforms and amendments in the procurement law, the department.
