Data breach alert: 5.4 million Digido customers affected

Digido Finance Corp., an online lending company registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission, has been hacked, compromising the personal information of an estimated 5.4 million customers.

According to Dray Valiente, executive director of Deep Web Konek, the data breach occurred on March 1, 2024, and involved the theft of sensitive data including names, phone numbers, email addresses, IDs, and birthdates of its customers.

While initial reports on a hacker forum offered the stolen data for sale, the post was later taken down, leaving the true extent of the attempted sale and the number of individuals affected unclear.

However, a compressed data file of approximately 482MB was identified, potentially containing information on around 1 million people.

The SEC lists three online platforms under Digido Finance: Unacash, Unapay, and Digido.

Digido is part of robo.finance, a Russian fintech company focusing on Asia and Europe.
