China Banking Corp. led by bankero William Whang is strengthening its retail banking business segment (RBBS) with the appointment of key officers under its succession management program.
The Sy-led bank has announced the appointment of Clara Sy as first vice president I and region head of RBBS – Metro Manila East Region and Jose Osmeña Jr. as segment head effective last July 1.
On the other hand, China Bank executive vice president and segment head of RBBS Rosemarie Gan who is set to retire by the end of the year has been appointed as adviser.
The bank also announced the promotion of James Christian Dee to first vice president II from first vice president and was seconded to China Bank Savings as president and director.
Likewise, Jose Luis Alcuaz Jr. as head of business re-engineering and optimization division with a rank of first vice president II, effective July 18.
Alcuaz is a seasoned banker with over 30 years of banking experience obtained locally and overseas. His core competencies are in the fields of business re-engineering and transformation, optimization of operations, change delivery, development and deployment of technology, data management, governance, compliance and financial crime and risk management.
In the past, Alcuaz held key positions at the HSBC as Chief Administration Officer, Head of Operational Management, Head of Performance Services, Chief Risk and Administration Officer, and Head of Service Delivery, to name a few.
Alcuaz also served as director and/or officer in different Philippine banking industry associations including the Philippine Clearing House Corporation, Bankers Association of the Philippines and Bancnet Incorporated. Mr. Alcuaz graduated from the Ateneo de Manila University where he finished a course in Liberal Arts major in Economics.
