China Bank Savings Inc. (CBS), the retail banking arm of China Banking Corp., has pledged to contribute to the restoration of watersheds in communities where it operates.
Bankero and CBS President James Christian T. Dee emphasized the bank’s commitment to addressing the challenges posed by severe weather events.
As an initial commitment to nationwide forest conservation and restoration, CBS employees will plant 750 tree saplings in Quezon City’s La Mesa Watershed on July 15.
The initiative aims to mitigate the effects of climate change and extreme weather events, which have adversely affected the bank’s branches and customers over the years.
