The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) has named career central banker Eduardo Bobier as its new Deputy Governor for Corporate Services Sector, replacing former Deputy Governor Ma. Almasara Cyd Tuaño-Amador whose retirement took effect last March 1.
Prior to his promotion, Bobier was Managing Director and appointed Sector-in-Charge of the central bank’s Corporate Services Sector.
Tuaño-Amador, who first retired in January 2015, rejoined the BSP in January 2017 as Deputy Governor of the Resource Management, now the Corporate Services Sector.
Bobier joins three other Deputy Governors including Francisco Dakila Jr. who heads the Monetary and Economic Sector, Chuchi Fonacier who is in charge of the Financial Supervision Sector, and Mamerto Tangonan who heads the newly created Payments and Currency Management Sector.
Under Republic Act 11211 that amended RA 7653 or the New Central Bank Act, the BSP can appoint up to five Deputy Governors.
