BSP, BDO collaborate on free online personal finance course to boost financial literacy in the Philippines

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) has joined forces with BDO Unibank Inc.’s BDO Foundation to create a free online personal finance course, called the “FinEd e-Learning Course.”

The course aims to enhance financial literacy and accessibility to financial education for Filipinos.

The course, consisting of nine interactive modules, will cover topics such as financial planning, budgeting, investment management, and fraud prevention, and will be accessible through BSP’s e-learning platforms by early 2024.

The collaboration seeks to cultivate a financially healthy and empowered citizenry in the Philippines, contributing to nation-building and addressing gaps in financial knowledge and consumer protection.

Security Bank posts net income of PHP9.1 billion in 2023

Security Bank Corporation (PSE: SECB) posted net income of PHP9.1 billion in 2023. Total revenues grew 8% year-on-year to PHP43.0 billion. Net interest income increased 19% to PHP34.7 billion. Net interest margin for the full year was 4.49%, higher compared to 4.23% in 2022. Total non-interest income was at PHP8.2 billion.
