The Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) has bolstered its commitment to digital financial inclusion by supporting the Paleng-QR Ph program, a government initiative aimed at expanding digital payments across the Philippines.
BPI showcased its e-wallet, VYBE, during the program’s rollout in Iloilo, Antique, and Metro Manila.

Launched by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) and the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), the Paleng-QR Ph program seeks to drive the adoption of QR code-based payments among small business owners, market vendors, and public transport operators. The program aims to provide a more efficient, secure, and cashless payment system for these businesses.
VYBE, a financial service provider equipped with QR Ph technology, played a central role in the program’s launch, assisting with account registration and conducting financial literacy sessions in the municipalities of Passi, Iloilo; San Jose de Buenavista, Antique; and Parañaque City. In 2024, VYBE had 1.7 million users.
VYBE allows both BPI clients and non-clients to make cashless transactions by scanning QR Ph codes at participating merchants. The app also offers free fund transfers to other VYBE users, local banks, and e-wallets, enhancing access to digital financial services.
Through its participation in the Paleng-QR Ph program, BPI aims to promote financial inclusion, build trust in digital banking, and drive wider adoption of cashless transactions among Filipinos.
