Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) has launched its first Prime Phygital branch in Mindanao, reinforcing its push for tech-driven, customer-centric banking.
The new branch, located in Azuela Cove, Davao City, reflects BPI’s strategy of blending digital innovation with personalized service.
BPI’s Prime Phygital branches offer exclusive lounges for preferred clients and feature Concierge and Quick Transact staff to streamline banking transactions.
“A phygital bank combines the convenience of digital banking with the personalized service of physical branches to create a seamless and enhanced customer experience,” said Dennis Fronda, BPI Branch Stores Channel Head.
BPI first introduced Phygital Banking in 2023, integrating digital and in-person services to modernize the banking experience. Ma. Cristina “Ginbee” Go, BPI Consumer Banking Head, highlighted the bank’s commitment to financial guidance and innovation: “As our customers go more digital, we’re transforming our branches into centers of personalized financial advice. By combining our digital strength with expert financial advisors, we help clients grow their wealth and achieve financial wellness.”
The Ayala-led bank currently operates 55 phygital, 13 prime phygital, and 2 flagship branches nationwide, with 17 of these certified as EDGE Green Bank Branches by the International Finance Corporation (IFC).
The certification underscores BPI’s sustainability efforts, recognizing branches that cut energy and water consumption by at least 20%.
BPI plans to open 25 more phygital branches and convert its remaining network over the next five years, signaling its commitment to delivering smarter and more accessible banking solutions for Filipinos.
