BDO Unibank Inc., led by the Sy family, raised ₱115 billion from its latest peso-denominated ASEAN Sustainability Bond issuance, after strong investor demand prompted an early close to the offer period.
The offering, initially targeted at ₱5 billion, was 23 times oversubscribed, with broad participation from retail and institutional investors.
The bond sale opened on July 9 and was supposed to run until July 22, but closed early on July 14.
The bonds have a tenor of 1.5 years and carry a coupon rate of 5.875% per annum. The issuance, settlement, and listing date is July 29.
BDO said net proceeds from the issuance will be used to finance or refinance eligible assets under its Sustainable Finance Framework, support its lending activities, and help diversify its funding sources.
ING Bank N.V., Manila Branch acted as the sole arranger and sustainability coordinator. BDO and ING were selling agents, while BDO Capital & Investment Corp. served as financial advisor.
This marks BDO’s fourth ASEAN sustainability bond issuance.
