Bayad, Starpay partnership for digital payments

Leading outsourced collection platform Bayad has partnered with e-wallet operator Starpay to onboard more bills payment services in response to the fast-paced and ever-changing needs of its customers.

Bayad president and CEO Lawrence Ferrer said the partnership with Starpay would enable a dynamic experience in bills in bills payment.

“Aside from boosting our physical payment footprint, Bayad teamed up with Starpay to enable a dynamic experience in bills payment where going digital can no longer be an afterthought, but a move for a secured, efficient and hassle-free transaction. The integration of our platforms gives us more opportunities to innovate and magnify the value of financial inclusion amidst the new normal,” Ferrer said.

Formerly known as Bayad Center, Bayad has aggregated a multitude of billers into a robust system that is now being used by more than 100,000 physical touchpoints and leading digital and mobile platforms across the country.

Through the said partnership, Bayad will be powering the bills payment capability of Starpay, providing its customers access to Bayad’s extensive network of biller partners.

The partnership kicks off by onboarding biller brands such as Meralco, Meralco Kuryente Load, Home Credit, Easytrip RFID and PLDT.

Starpay president Lamberto Scarella said the tie up would enable its six million users to pay their bills such as Meralco with ease.

“We pride ourselves as the Pitaka ng Bayan because we really are targeting the mass market. Our mutual commitment will definitely pave the way to a more inclusive digital financial experience,” Scarella said.

With its six million customers and over 10,000 touchpoints nationwide, Starpay envisions itself to be the “Pitaka ng Bayan” enabling the next generation of inclusive financial technologies to empower every Filipino.
